Meet Executive Chef Jeremiah Edwards and his Mari-Jae Mission Microgreen Mix

At Back Mountain Microgreens, passion meets plate in a burst of freshness and flavor, especially with our new Farm Fresh Hope collab mix, and Jeremiah Edwards, the executive chef at Marianacci's on W. 8th Street in Wyoming, PA.

Bringing Art to the Plate with Microgreens at Marianacci's

Chef Jae is grateful to be the talent we've selected for this go-around of our Farm Fresh Hope collaboration initiative, and also for the support he’s received along his culinary journey thus far. Despite facing a few challenges in the industry (like watching too many local restaurants shut down a few years ago), he's also seen loyal customers keep family-owned establishments like Marianacci’s alive and well.  Customers are like the families of those who own local, small businesses and just like business owners think of their customers as family, Chef Jae sees his coworkers at Marianacci's as family too.

Marianacci’s is a well-established, third-generation, 50+ year-old restaurant owned by Dominic and Joelle Marianacci. They give Chef Jae the creative freedom to blend traditional family-style dishes with his own modern artistry to offer quality Italian-American cuisine. While Marianacci's has evolved into a semi-upscale dining experience over recent years, the restaurant stands firm in its traditional roots, and according to chef Jeremiah, their house-made pasta and meatballs are still among the top five bestsellers.

Local Ingredients, Loving Impact

Chef Jeremiah’s childhood, when his family needed help putting food on the table, fuels our commitment to help our local community today.  We know that there are many people living that life at this very moment and it inspires us to do something about it because we've been there too.

That's why twenty percent of every sale of Chef Jae's Mari-Jae Mission Microgreen Mix goes to Fork Over Love, a local organization with a mission to help our restaurants help our neighbors.  That's exactly what neighbors do for one another (as people, and as businesses!), so we're happy to support Fork Over Love with Chef Jae's mix.

By incorporating Mari-Jae mix into your cooking, you can support Fork Over Love too.  You won't just create a meal, you'll contribute to something bigger than yourself.  You'll help ignite a ray of light in what might be the darkest time for someone who needs a bit of hope, and maybe some assurance that better times are ahead.

The Journey From Farm, To Table, With Love

A couple years ago, we were excited to transition Luke's side-gig microgreens business into a full fledged thing, and now, here we are, introducing our third Mission Microgreen Mix collab. It's still just the beginning, but we're doing what we set out to do with our Farm Fresh Hope initiative. Chef Jae's love for cooking began at Flip Side Café in South Carolina, where he was inspired by farm-to-table dining. With work experience in resorts, fine dining, and family-owned restaurants, along with his formal culinary education, he's in a great spot to showcase his skills and talent at Marianacci’s. We are glad that our path crossed chef Jeremiah's. Looking ahead, he hopes to maybe one day open his own café with a similar fresh, locally sourced food concept. And, who knows where we'll be!

My hope is that Back Mountain Microgreens helps people, just like Chef Jae wants to help people... with food! ☺️ I also hope his story and Mari-Jae mix find a place in your heart (or your belly!), and inspire you to use food to shine a light in the darkness for someone in need. ❤️ The Mari-Jae Mission Microgreen Mix is a limited-time opportunity to do just that between March 7th and April 28th, 2025. 🍽️
